The world our kids will grow up in.....we are laying that foundation with our actions. Myself ...well im white and My Wife well she is mexican.....My baby Girl McKayla well she is a mixture of the two.... Thats not uncommon anymore - many Americans are mixed race including our president...but he is refereed to as black!!! So when your a mixed race do you get to chose what side your on? How will others portray my daughter? Is she White or is she Mexican...I think it doesnt matter.....but how will others portray her.....If she has huge achievemnets in life will she be reffered to as White? If she has failures will she be referred to as mexican...whats her heritage and whats her identity....because race doesnt always mean thet you come from a specific background.... Again im WHite and my Wife is Mexican....but according to stereotypical legends....we should be the opposite....ask her Im more hood than she is...some say im more mexican than she is....it sounds funny but its an eye opener.... So what you teach your kids with your actions will untimely result in how my daughter is recognized and treated in years to come..... I think as Americans when you are having to fill out an application or medical forms and it ask what ethnicity you are.....everyone should check other...and write in American...or better yet in big letters put NOYFB....i bet you can figure out what that means.... why is it an interracial relationship if it only involves black and white partners? why not brown and white..or red and brown .... or black and brown Its eye opening...its the way you have been programmed and we need to change that for our kids sake.....we can all break the cycle it seems that when a mixed American is in the spotlight...there refered to as what ever part of them is more convinent for that race...well thats a form of Racism My Daughter will always be American...the same as me and her mother
