The world started from somewhere and it is heading towards somewhere. At this point in our lives, we have all come to the realization that QUALITY EDUCATION is what every single person MUST have irrespective of their geographical location, religion, gender and ethnic. But for one reason or the other some people are denied of this opportunity. This is one of the most deprived communities in the Volta region of Ghana with about one thousand populations. People in this community are all peasant farmers and do not have the means to educate their wards. This situation has all these years left parents with no other choice than to give out their wards for hard labour in exchange of an impecunious income. Some of them migrating to the cities in search for unexciting jobs, some involving in illegal mining, charcoal burning etc.The higher education one has ever attained in this village has been the high school which is too low for the job market. There are a lot of potential children who are hungry and willing to clime the academic ladder to the zenith but are unable to do so due to financial constraints. These youngsters are foreseeing the danger ahead of them should they continue in this unfortunate situation. For that matter, they have organized themselves under one umbrella called Students Union of Mafi-Adiekpe (SUMA) to help the entire village in the eradication of illiteracy. This union is therefore, soliciting for the financial and material support from the individuals, companies, cooperate societies, organisations and institutions for positive change in this community.
