The world’s view of the “spirit of Christmas” is shopping, - TopicsExpress

The world’s view of the “spirit of Christmas” is shopping, giving and receiving gifts and needs to be replaced by the Spirit of Christ. The spirit of Christmas happens only one time each year but, the Spirit of Christ is forever. The spirit of Christmas to the world is a corny story with the thought of a fat man in a red coat that can fly all over the world in one night and give gifts to each person in the world, but the Spirit of Christ is supernatural and can give you a life eternal. The spirit of Christmas is created by men as a mega shopping season throughout the world but, the Spirit of Christ is a heavenly person who gave His life that we might live and to me, that makes all the difference in the world. The Gospel expects a world far different from the way we see Christmas. We have lost its true meaning; the birth of our Savior! The promise of God’s Word is that it is “ALWAYS” Christmas. For us to be “in Christ” we should enjoy each morning as a Christmas morning, opening the gift of life, family, health and home. Celebrating the gift from God, His Son, around the tree of life each and every day! Jesus is not to us as Christmas is to the world, here today and gone tomorrow. He is with us each day in the good times and in the bad! John MacArthur wrote it so well several years ago in his book God With Us, “Heres a side to the Christmas story that isnt often told: Those soft little hands, fashioned by the Holy Spirit in Marys womb, were made so that nails might be driven through them. Those baby feet, pink and unable to walk would one day walk up a dusty hill to be nailed to a cross and that sweet infants head with sparkling eyes and eager mouth was formed so that someday men might force a crown of thorns onto it. That tender body, warm and soft, wrapped in swaddling clothes, would one day be ripped open by a spear. Jesus was born to die.” I choose to celebrate Christmas as the Gospel to the world! The birth of a Savior and a risen Lord for us all! God bless you all!
