The year has nearly gone Its been twelve months and three weeks since I had a cigarette and Ive put nearly ten kilos on my frame that ought to weigh about sixty eight kilos. Bugger. It could be worse. Ive had a really good year in my other job of home care and have made some new friends. Theres something very satisfying about really helping someone in their continued enjoyment of life despite their physical limitations. The pay is lousy. The payoff is good. Ive always suspected that things arent quite what they seem and this year that has been revealed in stark relief. What I take away from this research is that we have a real fight on our hands down to the wire, if we are to survive as a culture, a species and a living planet. Maybe the way to stay sane is to take the George Carlin approach. I suspect that hes right. Enough of that. I sincerely hope that you are enjoying your ride and that you have happiness, health and some kind of satisfaction in the future.
