#TheCrew, what we know so far. Its one of the biggest games released in the history of #gaming in a variety of aspects, scales, surface level, customisation, multiplayer & more. The list goes on and on and since its announcement back in 2013 weve personally been confused as to how the whole concept was going to work. Thankfully, #Polygon have the answers! Driving games are one of our favourite genres in the #videogame world, #Forza Motorsport for example is partly responsible for the birth of 4-One Gaming so its easy to see why were excited for #Ubisofts MMO Driving game. Now thats the key to The Crew, Massive Multiplayer Online, one server per platform & hundreds of thousands of #gamers... Ambitious? Absolutely! The Crew will work simply by having its free roam map very similar to that of an MMORPG such as #WorldofWarcraft. This world isnt split by any means until players take part in the various missions in which they will be grouped up, away from the main free roam map in whats known as an Instance. Uninterrupted by the main world of The Crew players taking part in the same mission, such as a race for example, will be joined together separated from the masses to ensure that the huge amounts of activity does not ruin the experience for those taking part. The cars themselves are a huge part of the game (obviously) and the sheer scope of customisation is almost limitless, and it needs to be. The world itself is a go anywhere environment but that doesnt necessarily mean you can just go anywhere. Vehicles must be adapted to suit the terrain in which youre driving on, a low sprung Ferrari would never survive trail blazing across the alpine for example and would therefore need to be adapted to suit the terrain.
