@TheShruggs Talent Spotlight this week features Bona-Fide music LEGENDS: The 4 Of Us. the4ofus/ Its always a privilege doing the Spotlights but this one certainly has an added edge for me.. ill begin with their incredible album Classified Personal https://youtube/watch?v=ytMzdRIWHJY taken from their YouTube Channel. this is without question one of my most favoritist albums that I own. usually when I buy albums I do that thing where you listen to certain songs only and forget the rest BUT this one is so good that every song is a treat to the ears. I can happily listen straight though, as I have been doing for the last few days in order to get Psyched Up to write the piece (didnt take much though i must admit!).. what an honour like!. Songs like: One more shot, Change and Volatile make the album a MUST hear. The Band have been through many guises over the years with different instrumentalist popping in and out but Brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy have been a CONSTANT throughout, Their tendency to seemingly disappear and then re-appear out of nowhere with a sparkle has i(n my eyes) added to their Charming Mystique and enigma. Shooting to fame and acclaim in 1989 aided by the enduring No.1 Hit Mary from the album Songs for the Tempted, which sounded great played from record on a PIONEER sound system. (I know this only because my Bro Played it relentlessly). Haling from Newry County Down. 2014 is the year they celebrate their 25th year Rawking the music world. Not many Bands can say they have lasted for a quarter of a century now to be fair, Rolling Stones type stuff that and a HUGE achievement to boot. They are currently on a tour which you can find details of gigs here: the4ofus/shows/ I was gutted to miss them LIVE at the Triskel Arts Centre Cork recently with support from the, also superb Cormac O Caoimh.. (I can only assume that was an EPIC gig). Fortunately all is not lost. As they are famed for the utter brilliance of their live shows they did some recording with Jo From BalconyTv Cork, which you can see and also hear, here: youtu.be/ggIvCJVSjJA Their live album recorded at Vicar St. is next on my Music To Buy list.. Clearly never ones to rest on a laurel, individually the lads are also embarking on their own projects. Brendan has released: walk with me (preview here): https://itunes.apple/ie/album/walk-with-me/id419698488 and Declan has released 16 Tonnes Which you can watch here: vimeo/22498957 you can also find The4OfUs on TWITTER: @the4ofus .. Thank you Millions for the Great Music Lads.. really great music... Ya can tell when it means alot to people to play and I hope yer busting a groove for AT LEAST! another, quarter of a century. ..check these guys out (on the slim chance that you havent already!) especially that Classified Personal album ..yas wont be disappointed in the slightest. Much Lurve, JD Xx
