Them f*ckers know. They know you dont. We havent even scratched the surface of our history with them to even begin to grasp our own pain, let alone worry about them getting it. I had a white professor in undergrad tell me, I cant say I get it b/c Ive not experienced your life. There is one difference bt you and them. They know their history and they know yours. You dont know yours to stand toe to toe with them. When you do you have as much rights to speak just like they did. When I thought about it, I realized she was right. I decided that I needed to know my history. When I learned some, it filled me with pride, righteous indignation and anger which I was entitled to. After that, I was outspoken and bold. I realized I was standing on the shoulders of my ancestors, and I was tall. The rest of my time there, they couldnt f*ck with me or mine. They dared not say anything untoward. I also went in to learn about them prior to the period of enlightenment. It wasnt called the Dark Ages for no reason. I no longer cared about getting them to understand and get along. Theyre the wrong doers. They continue to enjoy the boon of those wrongs and have made no restitution of them. I dont care if they understand or not. I care that we do. Even if I entertained the notion you dont actually know. Why dont you know? B/c you dont give a f*ck to know. You want to maintain ignorance so you can maintain the position of your privilege. You have access to the same info.
