*** Theme: Listen More Talk Less *** If you are a leader, pay attention to your talk/listen ratio. It is an accurate reflection of your leadership skill. Some leaders talk too much and do not listen enough. That ratio comes from hubris or other egotistical tendencies associated with being the "big cheese." It reflects an inner attitude that "my opinion matters most." Occasionally you may encounter a leader with a very low talk/listen ratio. This leader is insecure or reticent to share his or her views for some other reason. People usually have a hard time working with a leader who is reluctant to express views. The middle ground is the best place to be if you are in a leadership position. You have a tendency to be quiet when other people are trying to send a message, but you are capable of sending a clear message when one is needed.
