Theme of the week: #Energy George Freeman MP, the United Kingdom’s Trade Envoy to the Philippines is in Manila for a two-day visit to boost trade and investment relations between the UK and the Philippines. Mr Freeman will be leading a trade mission composed of energy companies. The UK has world leading expertise and extensive capabilities across the energy sector – from renewable energy, building upon its serious commitment to reduce carbon emissions, to the oil and gas sector from its decades of experience in the North Sea. In line with his visit, we will be posting key facts about the UK’s work on energy and low carbon. #Didyouknow: The UK is the global leader in offshore wind power, with more capacity installed than the rest of the world combined (Offshore wind operational report 2012, Crown Estates 2013).
