Then [Jesus] said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will save it. (Luke 9:23-24) Pastor Spencer - Jesus speaks of a daily cross, not a once-in-a-while cross. The cross we must carry every day is our sinful nature and its desire to destroy our saving faith. More than that we each have a special cross - a very specific temptation - that is our most dangerous sin. Every day we must recognize these dangers and follow Jesus to His Cross; not to be crucified like Him, but to place our sins on Him and let Him take them away. Do this, by faith, and we will be saved! Sorry Ive been slack with these postings. Now that Im done with the vacancies at two churches, I hope to do better!
