“Then the King will say to those on his left, ‘Go away from me. You will be punished. Go into the fire that burns forever that was prepared for the devil and his angels. I was hungry, and you gave me nothing to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink. I was alone and away from home, and you did not invite me into your house. I was without clothes, and you gave me nothing to wear. I was sick and in prison, and you did not care for me.’ “Then those people will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or alone and away from home or without clothes or sick or in prison? When did we see these things and not help you?’ Then the King will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, anything you refused to do for even the least of my people here, you refused to do for me.’ (Matthew 21:41-45 NCV) The harshest warning that Jesus ever gave was not to those who believed or stood for the wrong things. No, rather, Jesus harshest warning was given to those who stood for all of the right beliefs but neglected the one sacrifice that God requires of humankind: “What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8) - See more at: redletterchristians.org/world-vision-sad-state-american-evangelicalism/#sthash.IbKPQat9.dpuf I am sorry for World Vision, I am sorry for the children who will suffer because of the ideologies, philosophies and theological position but many Christians supported this organization based on their theological convictions with the impression of after feeding the hungry they would be open to hearing and perhaps accepting the gospel massage of Jesus which includes a moral code. For World Vision to make such a discession at the cost of losing support for the needs of these children was indeed a grave and foolish statement. It is not about the giving in a strange way world Vision may get even more support simply to prove from a worldly point of view they don’t need Christian support to help needy children. Philosophy, theology convictions are the elements by which we all operate and to ignore these principles one does it at their own peril. Two wrong does not make a right and I hope something can be workout. But did we really need to know if the employees were gay or not, did really need to know who they may or may not be sleeping with? On another note the Bible is not a manual for social change, for civil rights although there are lesson to be learned from the scriptures in this regards. The Bible is written to a people with a covenant relationship with Al mighty God, Yahweh, Elohim, The Great I am, who now speaks through His son Jesus Christ ( Hebrews 1:1-14) who in powered the Apostles of the first century to expand his massage of the gospel( Ephesians 2:11-23) establishing what we call the New Covenant. We no longer practice the ceremonies and the practice of the Law of Moses, the Old Covenant. Most of the reference to justice, helping the poor, the forsaken, the widows is in the context of the covenant relation people both Old and New Testament. When Jesus answers the question when did we visit you etc. his response is in reference to those who have accepted him, who have this convent relationship through the Law and now through the blood of Christ. It is a wrong interpretation at least of the scripture used in this argument to think he is speaking to all humans. One is a child of God through the Old Testament Laws or the New Testament, through accepting the life, death and resurrection of Christ. This does not exclude the notion we should be about helping everyone. Finally one should not forget in Matthew 23; and 24; Jesus talks of the last days, there are a number of passages that speaks of a time as Christ returning draws near, that many will depart from the Faith, our common Faith passed down through the Apostles of the first century and through the teaching of Jesus in regards to the New Covenant. The Bible speaks of the great apostasy. A falling away from the truth of the word of God and the Faith. Some will be lead away from the truth from seducing spirits by the philosophies and opinion of mere men, ungodly men so be ye warned. I and ll Thessalonians and 2 Peter and the book of Revelations regarding the last days. I am shocked but not surprised of Word Vision decision but the line must be drawn and wow unto to Church who have their head in the sand and want take a stand! Wow onto the leaders who are afraid to share with their configurations and provide an educational loving forum to talk about these and others issues. There is indeed a storm
