Then there is the newest and one of the most intriguing apps, korgs remarkable gadget - Ive been working on a few different pieces over the last month or so, and finally sat down this weekend and completed all four of the tracks that had been in progress: a third or less, night flight to mongolia, while you were sleeping and the most recent, an epic 13 minute plus ambient piece, that bears one of the strangest titles ever, but this is what occurs to me when Im listening back to a new song at two in the morning :-) - the track is called revealing more space/time travellers. I have no idea what that means, but I kinda like it :-). I find gadget easy to use, the editing is quite clever once you get the hang of it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could indeed make ambient music with it, which is a very pleasant surprise indeed. The four tracks have been mastered, and again, be on the look out for not only the four new tracks made with gadget, but also, of course, the next eternal album, music for apps: gadget to house those tracks. I really enjoy creating with gadget, its so flexible, and having fifteen synths to choose from is pretty awesome!! Of course, I do tend to gravitate towards the Helsinki synth, obviously, because its quite ambient sounding, but there are good ambient sounds in many of the other synths, too. A great addition to the ever growing library of amazing music applications... So I am loving working with this app, and the four tracks each have an utterly unique character, from very active to extremely ambient, so that is a good demonstration of the variety of drum, bass, pad and lead sounds available across 15 synths!!! All I can say at this point is go, gadget, go... and start work on a new gadget track... Look for these on bandcamp later this week as well....
