Theology on Tap reflection: Interesting fact in the religions - TopicsExpress

Theology on Tap reflection: Interesting fact in the religions discussed thus far. The founders of Buddhism, Confucianism and Daoism were not concerned with the spiritual realm nor with the concepts of heaven, eternity or life after death. These religions were to identify a current problem and offer a solution. Yet people, no matter how much the teaching emphasizes not to concern themselves with these things, still innately try to find apparatuses through these religions to reach out to the metaphysical realm. In fact, John states, this type of desire applies to ALL religions and folk religions. I still recall what he said about replacing Buddhism or Confucianism with Native Indian religions. The apparatuses are very similar regardless of which religion we are talking about. Makes me think about my religion. Did I pick Christianity just because it was the best one to explain a current problem I personally have and provided a better solution? Did it provide apparatuses that gave me an avenue to touch my inner spirit or soul i.e. singing, praying ministers? Or Did I choose Christianity for something else?
