There are Comic Book fans and there are fans of characters in comic books. If you are a Comic Book fan then you know that there are more companies that offer good Reading Material than the big two. If you are a character fan then you know nothing but Marvel and DC. Fans have a hard time at distinguishing between the hero and alter ego. Then there are fans who have no idea of the history of the character and their many replacements and incarnations. Then mainstream media, who have no idea what is going on, proceeds to rile folks up over the smallest of changes. We forget things like the previous storylines that leads to these changes.
