There are SO many misleading statements in DuPonts Tara Stewarts Letter to the Editor in tonights paper we dont even know where to begin. Most importantly, the proposed mining ordinance was not submitted to the county by an Atlanta-based environmental group/law firm but by our own county attorney, Bob Smith. Yes, he did accept the legal research conducted by GreenLaw, but he also checked every bit of it for validity and accuracy. DuPont is spreading half-truths and outright lies in an effort to confuse and distort the honest and just intentions of our county commissioners. Please tell our county commissioners to stand strong and protect us from greedy, dishonest mining companies.
