There are a couple of things we try to do different at the Tuesday Night Blues Party at Charlack Pub ... that i would like to mention ... any music can be played ... we dont object ... but we strongly encourage blues and hope to keep it very friendly to blues musicians ... we also will try very hard to use smaller amps and PAs to keep volume well below the norm at the other rock jams ... guests or hosts (including myself) that dont respect this aspect will find that they are not on the calendar as frequently ... one last thing ... many of the players and hosts of the other open mics try to hold the players to 2 songs ...and short songs at that ... i understand why this is SOP ... but this jam is different in that we encourage longer improvised songs ... and we like to allow players 4-5 and sometimes more songs ... yes this means that the actual host band plays a little less ... and list players play more ... its all about the fun for the list players ...thx guys n gals ... hope u have some fun !
