There are certain tendencies that lie remnant within us that are prevalent in our behavior. They lie like sediment within the beaker of our old mindset. And can only be perceived once there is a shaking and digruntlement on us. But there is within us all the earnest desire to be delivered of these unwholesome attitudes. But one needs to realize that the methods in which God employs to achieve this is by involving the shaking and disgruntlement that person. But it is ever so painful because the process requires that I be chastened to the extent whereby I feel every feeling of the consequences. And then there is a wrestling period where I am left with the opportunity to choose to repeat the same action or will I decide to respond the right way. For example if you are struggling with jealousy God will allow you to go through something that will evoke jealousy in you and its painful consequences. And you will pray to Him and ask Him to strengthen you to decide not to be jealous and just do the exact opposite and that is where the true victory comes. Chastening and the pain of the process are necessary in transforming our minds, will and emotoins. This is not to harm us but to profit us and those around us.
