There are currently protesters fasting on the National Mall demanding citizenship and other government benefits for illegal aliens. Hmmmm....heres a scenario for liberals to ponder. I am currently living and working in the US. I have children. I want to better their lives. I rob a bank and bury the money in my backyard. Years later I am apprehended and most of the money is recovered. The government prosecutes me. Oh, I say, you cannot prosecute me because I have done nothing wrong. I only wanted to better my familys financial situation. I cant be blamed for that. Wrong, says the prosecutor, you robbed a bank and broke the law. But I was a productive member of society and caused no harm. Plus, I have ninos & ninas and it would be injurious to them if you took any action to punish me. But you broke the law, repeats the prosecutor. I whine to Obama, Eric Holder and other liberal activists. Law, schmlaw, Holder says to the prosecutor. Cease your persecution of this man and set him free. After all, all he wanted to do was improve the lives of his family. That in and of itself is a noble cause. This man should actually be celebrated and held in high esteem by society for his heroic efforts. And by the way, give him the money back you found in his backyard. Its not fair that he should be disadvantaged. I keep the money, get off scot free, and encourage my friends and neighbors to rob more banks. Why not? You can get off AND keep the money. Because, according to Obama & Holder, laws dont really matter. Even though they were sworn to uphold them.
