There are days when I wonder who I pissed off in a former life. Today, the first day I havent had to drive my son to school in almost 9 1/2 months, I attended a course I applied for. Cascade....do you have a stressful life? Do you want to learn how to relax and laugh? Yes please methinks! Lovely lady calls me yesterday to confirm and off I set. Get there and greeted by two lovely smiling people who run the course . met some new people and sat with some good friends, Paula Jayne White and Rachael Bunt. Brilliant,I think. This is going to be time well spent. Course starts at ten. Almost 10.30 we start as the third staff, (I wont say her name as I want to swear) holds everyone up then waltzes in, no apology and asks us to switch off phones. I explain I cant do that as I need to be on call to collect my son at all times. Surely you can switch off for an hour? She responds. I explain my situation and met with blank stare and again asked if I can switch off as it will disturb everyone . I explain its on silent so no it wont. She responds with it is part of the course rules. Not a great start as already feeling under pressure from this obnoxious woman. Lucky, nice course leader looks uncomfortable and says, only the same as a Dr on call and tells me its not a problem. So after us all feeling a little uncomfortable we go on . had some laughs but had to constantly listen to her interrupting people, talking over the other guy and being a complete arse tbh. Im starting to get quite wound up but stay calm ( bearing in mind Im supposed to be De stressing and laughing now!). So then she says we need to attend all six weeks. I explain I have appointment next week that I cant change . another lady explains she has medical appointment shes been waiting months for. Twat head then says well you need to think about this course seriously and could we change our medical appointments? I explai ed no its not that simple. She then goes on about the impact us not showing up will have on th email group . This time I was terse and said well unfortunately some of us have more complicated lives and cant just change things. Nice bloke changes subject quickly. At end, she brings me up again and says are you sure you cant just turn up next week. Nope I say. Not even for a little while? ( ready to punch her at this stage). Sick of explaining some people have complex lives and cant just drop that for a bloody course thatd meant to be fun mot made for trainee fascists I talk to nice bloke and say I dont think Ill be coming back at all. Straight away he says he was uncomfortable the I was being singled out and spoken to and could he change my mind if he gets get to apologise. So I allow him to call her over. We sit down, he explains how her snide comments made me feel and she smirks..actually a patronising smile..and says, ok, if you dont want to come back thats your choice! No apology . guy looks ready to smack her one and sits there in disbelief. I get up and walk out telling her never before have I been so angry and that I find her unprofessional and rude. She just smirks and says ok. I walk out to car so angry I burst into tears in the car. So needless to say if you see a course by cascade dont fcking bother. So great start to the week
