There are many Pagan rituals involved in our Christmas and Easter. during the early Church beginnings Pagans brought their traditions into the Church. A example is the goddess Eostre and even though Easter (paskha in Greek) refers to the Passover feast in the month of Nisan one time in the bible, the Easter we celebrate is not the Passover but a Pagan ritual of fertility with eggs and the other part of Eostre worship with a bunny involved , most people do not know this. Christmas too has many Pagan rituals but w do not follow those for that reasons. I believe that a day should be set aside to worship and love the Son of the creator of the universe. Yes no matter what we do Satan is going to try to weasel his way into it. How we chose to worship Gods Son on the day of His birth and mourn him at His death Cheer Him on His defeat of the grave, is a personal thing. When I think of Easter, I am thinking of the tragic death, burial and resurrection. I refuse to say happy Easter choosing to say happy resurrection day. Christmas to me is worship songs and decoration and I do not dwell on the pagan part and try to show respect and hor to Jesus, Gods only begotten Sons birth and study in detail the hidden messages. Gift giving is part of that tradition for my kids sake but Jesus is the focal point of Christmas. I will not let Satan stop me from Thanking God for Jesus and His immaculate birth
