There are many Religious Organizations and Councils in the world today just like there where in Jesus and the Apostles Day. Thank God we have the full and complete Word of God to guide us and keep us from error. Definition of council 1.people running local affairs: a group of people elected to govern a local district 2mittee: an appointed or elected body of people with an administrative, advisory, or representative function 3.church assembly: an assembly of church representatives who meet to decide matters of discipline and doctrine Matthew 12:14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. Matthew 26:59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; Mark 14:55 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.
