There are many reasons we’re looking forward to the Pretty - TopicsExpress

There are many reasons we’re looking forward to the Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Halloween special, but perhaps none as exciting as the possible reveal that Ali is alive. In the summer finale, Mrs. Grunwald told the Liars that Alison (Sasha Pieterse) not only survived the night of her alleged death, but is planning on attending a party that very night in Ravenswood. Setting aside the debate of if we believe Mrs. G., we set about debating if we want to believe her. Why we didn’t want Ali to be alive before We’ve said before that we kinda, sorta hope Ali isn’t alive because, if she were, that possibly means she has been the worst friend ever to the Liars (letting them believe that she is dead and potentially harassing them as “A”), tried to kill her own brother, and been, generally, a terrible person. Now, we’re relatively sure that — if Ali is alive — she is not “A,” as someone has seemingly been stalking her since she “died.” Basically, Ali has been running for her life, unable to reach out to the people she loves for help. That sounds like a super lonely way to live, and not one usually undertaken lightly. We want to hear her story. Why we’re okay with it now So, yeah, we’re on board with Ali actually being alive now that it doesn’t equate to her being a cyber-stalking, misery-causing BFF. At this point, it makes a lot of sense, and PLL could do with some logical, (relatively) straight forward answers at this point. Ali being alive would be a major, effective twist. It would give Sasha more screen time, and give the other actresses new plot points to play. It would also give the Liars another secret to keep. This show runs on secrets, especially ones that have to be kept from the authorities of Rosewood (i.e. parents and policemen). The “A” secret is wearing a little thin. It could be exciting to see the Liars try to keep Ali’s presence (both literally and figuratively) hidden from the PLL parentals. Plus, we’d like to see how Ali has changed after what would have been an extended period of time on her own and on the run. Has Ali grown up and out of her mean girl ways? Has she finally earned the Liars’ loyalty? Why we want the Liars to find Ali in the Halloween episode We’re not saying we want Ali to come back from the dead and start hanging out at The Brew with the Liars (that would be weird), but finding out Ali is alive and on the run for her life would certainly add a new and increased urgency to a show that — although still suspenseful and gripping — has been promising answers about Ali’s dead-or-alive status for a long time and not really delivering. We’re ready for those answers, now. Having the Liars discover that Ali is alive would give us answers in a satisfying, definitive way without ruining the momentum of the show. After all, even if Ali is alive, that doesn’t mean she can officially come back from the dead. Both she and the Liars are still on “A”’s radar. This would just add another awesome element to the Liars’ thrilling race to keep themselves and the people they love (including Ali) from harm. Do you want Ali to be alive? Why or why not? Sound off in the comments below! *penny*
