November, 01,1913 an important date for college football fans. On this date the legend that was to become Notre Dame Football took root at West Points Cullum Field. It was there that a small school from South Bend Indiana took on the mighty Cadets of West Point. Notre Dame was a big under dog for the game. The seed for the Legend was planted along the shores of Lake Erie that summer when two Notre Dame students, Gus Dorais and Knute Rockne worked as life guards at Cedar Point. They worked on the seldom used forward pass during their off time hoping to use it during the upcoming season . Well on Nov. 1st 1913 they used the forward pass and defeated Army 35-13 to write the first chapter of the book of Notre Dame Football Legends. Thanks Gus and Knute and also Coach Jesse Harper for allowing it to happen.
