We were also so happy to day hello to Lucas new mom, Kathryn, and wish him well on his new journey. Kathryn is a wonderful woman who adopts hard to place animals and gives them a home to call their own. She just lost her last dog a few weeks ago and had called to see which dog had been here the longest and was difficult to place. She met Luca and decided he was the one! Kathryn has only one other pet at this time, a 20-something year-old box turtle her daughter rescued from a dumpster outside of a pet store. The turtle was very sick and had infections in his lungs and throat so Kathryn took him in and saved his life even though it cost her thousands of dollars to get the little guy back to health. Our counselors are pretty confident that Luca, Kathryn and her turtle are all going to be together for a very long time!
