There are misconception that Indian Food is being Hot, spicy, oily, rich, fatty and creamy. But theres added medical values in the spices...(Ill cover that on my next post.) Apart from medical value Indian food is still not bad either, the traditional Indian Thali includes carbohydrates, proteins, fats, all the elements to make a balanced diet. There are many diet programmes out there on the market. Crash diets arent good for your health and they dont work in the longer term. The way to reach a healthy weight - and stay there - is to change your lifestyle gradually. Aim to lose about 0.5 to 1kg (about 1 to 2lbs) a week, until you reach your target. But you will benefit from using a meal plan. Jotting down some of your favourites and implementing on a 5 day plan. With a little preparation, planning your meals in advance can help you save time and money at the supermarket. Developing a meal plan can also help you eat a more nutritious, well-balanced diet that includes nutrient-rich foods from each of the five food groups. You may find that you can better manage your weight if you plan and prepare meals at home more often. Aim for 50% fruit & Veg, 25% Protein & 25% Carb.(brown rice, brown whole grain bread). Eat more fish & Aim for at least two portions of fish a week, including a portion of oily fish. Regardless of how you decide to meal plan, taking some time to think about preparing meals ahead will help you save time, money and eat healthier!
