There are no WORDS that could ever explain how hurt I am right - TopicsExpress

There are no WORDS that could ever explain how hurt I am right now. Just about everyone knows that I have been working very hard on the Halos Ride for Life poker run. I have to tell you when I was first approached about hosting a poker run, I was a little scared because I knew nothing about them; but as I researched them I got more and more excited because I thought this could be the big hit in my region!! People love these rides in WV and they raise thousands of dollars! Planning this run as really taken its toll on me. I began in October, this guy was suppose to help me with everything. We had a couple of monthly meetings and he would drink and tell me what I needed or had to do. He never actually helped other than explaining it initially and giving a few pointers based on previous runs he had been on. Anyway, I kept moving forward and Googled everything or asked people along the way for advice. In the meantime my Grandmother became very ill and was later diagnosed in March with Dementia. I was helping to take care of her and trying to put the poker run together. It was so stressful. And as my Grandmother got a little better and I was able to come home and begin planning more fulltime, things got more stressful. It seemed like it was one bad thing after another. I know that we must expect challenges when hosting events, but this was unbelievable to a degree. So, we are three weeks out and the flyers, registration forms, and maps are all printed and I proceeded to deliver them to our stops. I stop at the 2 stop and the owner tells me he is sorry, but that Billy was suppose to keep in touch with him and hadnt and that he was forced to close his bar down. Wow! Okay, so I head down to some other place and the people were wonderful and happy and I ask them to take their place....the accepted! This means change all the paperwork and reprints!! Problem solved. D-day!! The weather forecast is calling for rain and its cloudy and dark in the morning. Registration is set to begin at 10 a.m. and we wait as 11 rolls by and then Noon and 12:30 and all this time only one person has shown up. It never rained at all and the sun shined all afternoon, but no problem we had this covered as we already scheduled rain day for next Saturday. But then today, I take a nap and wake up to text message from my daughter saying that she quit her job. The reason is because her job was one of the stops on the poker run and a few weeks ago they had a misunderstanding with me...over what the guy who was helping was doing. He was asking his friends there to sponsor us and they didnt like it, because they were there for bike night. Anyway, ever since that day the owners wife had been making my daughter walk on eggshells and had more than outwardly told her not to talk about he poker run or her son. So she quit today, thats her choice; right? Anyway, I had scheduled this venue back in October and long before they hired my daughter, I think she started there around May. And making this very long story a little shorter, this is what I awoke to in an private message from the owner of the venue.... Hey Dreama not sure why Ashley up and quit on us today one hour before her shift but I think its very low and I think it is in the best interest for everyone that you cancel the stop at Willies on your ride ... Im sorry but its best at this time ... She has put all of us and mainly the other girls in a major bind because they will have to work doubles to cover until we hire someone ... Im amazed ... Thanks Now what the hell, does my event really have to do with my daughter quitting her job? Especially considering they were a part of my event long before they hired her and do they NOT see the bind that THEY have put me in????
