Here is a great DUH!!!!! Liberals like to say that “Reality has a liberal bias.” Well, that was just put to the test…After the Newtown school shooting, President Obama ordered the CDC to study gun crime, to prove we need more gun control. That study has now been released. The CDC found that guns are used to defend victims as least as often as criminals use them -- possibly up to ten times more often. Intervention like background checks showed “mixed” results on crime, while gun turn-in programs were judged ineffective. Even though the number of guns is up 55 percent since 2003, guns accounted for less than 1 percent of all unintentional deaths in 2010. Mass shootings are a tiny percentage of gun deaths, and they’re actually declining. The one stat Obama could use is that America’s gun-related homicide rate is nearly 20 times that of other high-income nations. But it would be about the same as Belgium’s if you left out California, Illinois, DC and New Jersey: places with some of the strictest gun control laws in the US.
