There are pilots... and then there are PILOTS: News on Lebanon, Tennessee: Generations in Flight! Just returned from South Florida having completed the latest round of interviews for the Generations film and for another film project in the making. Capt. Paul Holsen, (far right) learned to fly in Lebanon and later became a pilot and ground agent for the CIA. Born in Honduras, his first flights as a youngster were in a Ford Tri-motor...in fact, the one hanging in the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C.! Thats pretty cool. Now to blow your mind, Cap. Robert Anson (standing middle) FLEW that plane in the 1940s (including with his young bride on their honeymoon) all over the jungles of Central America while working as a pilot for TACA airlines. I dont think Capt. Anson would mind me saying that he is an energetic young man of just 95, though hell tell you hes going to be 96 with the same enthusiasm of a 5 year old. I have never met someone as sharp and articulate at his age and he can recall his adventures like they were yesterday. It was a great interview. Anson will be appearing in the next project. (more to come) My friend, Capt. Holsen, also gave me a great interview.... although it was difficult with him making me laugh so much. His stories are equally entertaining (some downright hysterical) which will make for great reading in his new book Born in a Bottle of Beer, to be released soon. Holsen will appear in Generations in Flight. Both men come from a time when flying was dependent on a lot of skill and a lot of luck... or you didnt live long (and many didnt.) Capt. Anson and Capt. Holsen... representing two great Generations in Flight.
