There are seasons in life, when like an eagle, they pluck out - TopicsExpress

There are seasons in life, when like an eagle, they pluck out their feathers and stay put in their nest until new ones grow in. It is a season of paralysis, but it is necessary and vital until the new ones grow back and they are then able to soar to new heights. I Love how Patricia King addresses this temporary paralysis - "The Love of a Friend": "And some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him." -- Luke 5:18 The friends were aware of the meetings Jesus was ministering at where "the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing." (Luke 5:17b) Faith works through love and both their faith and their love were activated in this glorious story. They did for their friend what he could not do for himself. They took him up on his bed and carried him to the meeting hall. I am sure to their disappointment, by the time they arrived, the hall was full and there was no way they could enter. Love is persistent. They carried him up to the roof. This was no easy task. Love is the compelling force that enables us to face difficulties and break through any resistance. These faithful friends not only faced the struggle to get their buddy up on the roof but they literally put a hole in the roof and hung him right in the very face of Jesus - in fact, Jesus could not see anything else... only their friend.
