There are several approaches to addiction recovery residential programs. From the information being provided at this point, it appears that the facility with which I was formerly associated is moving toward establishing a Level I program (see the chart from this link at Florida Association of Recovery Residences). Its greatest advantage is its low cost (no professional staff except the director). Individuals within the program, to a large degree, set the rules and manage one another. Under prior leadership, it had operated as a Level III program with strong emphasis on Christian transformation through discipleship and mentoring. We had initiated plans to become certified as such under FARR. We will continue to offer the Level III discipleship and mentoring option for those with a strong desire to succeed in recovery and who have come to the conclusion in their own hearts that they can only achieve success in recovery through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
