There are several elements to check out on this Poster From The Past. At the bottom is an eroded desert landscape above which is a statue of a man (which resembles Jesus Christ) from the waist up with his arms raised. Above that is a bright and beautiful colored sky with clouds. In the middle of the sky is the reverse side of an American silver dollar. Although it would be easy to interpret this as a comment on the worship of money, it would seem that the artist, who tended to be very aware of the specific meaning of the symbols he chose, knew that this coin was called the Peace dollar. It was 44 years ago on this day back in 1970, that Savoy Brown, Seatrain, Ry Cooper and Humble Pie, Began their four nights of dance/concerts at the Fillmore West, here in our fair City by the Bay. Superb light show by Sunburst. This is BG Fillmore poster number #259 in the old series. It was designed by the prolithic rock artist David Dinger. He created more Fillmore posters for Bill Graham than any other artist of the era (over 60!). Heres another beauty! Share this sunset with a friend! Certainly Approved by Professor Poster
