There are smart Liberals and there are idiot Liberals just as there are smart Conservatives and idiot Conservatives. Unfortunately, the idiots comprise the majority for both sides. The smart Liberals will do as the New York Times editorial board has done and criticize Obama for acting in a way that is abusive to our system of government whereas the idiot Liberals will offer no criticism whatsoever instead preferring to keep clapping their hands furiously in support of Obama no matter what he does. The only way they would protest is if a Republican were in office doing it because they are shallow, intellectually deficient partisans incapable of seeing the principle behind it and preferring to believe that their guy is incapable of doing wrong, which of course, is silly.
