There are some who would have you believe that reaching out for - TopicsExpress

There are some who would have you believe that reaching out for help is akin to not having tawakkal on Allah. Therefore, many of us keep our serious problems, addictions, anxieties swept under the carpet to maintain the guise of the good and strong Muslim. However, true tawakkal is not to pretend, rather, it is in realising that Allah has not afflicted you with anything but that He has given a cure for it and that He has made available help to get you through it. So asking for help from trusted people, centres, doctors, counsellors is not against trust in Allah, rather it is a display of trust that your Lord has not left you alone and has provided for you to get better! We need to move ahead from our stigmas and contribute to a healthy development of our society. And this cannot happen until we accept that there are problems in our society that we have to address, counselling that we need to provide, and support groups that we have to create. Ultimate healing is from Allah. But it is He who has produced for you avenues in dunya to seek that healing without feeling guilty. Dont let anyone make you feel otherwise.
