There are three popemobiles: two locally made, the other one is borrowed from korea which was used last year world youth day. It is open, not bulletproof. The holy father is very visible, and accessible to go down to meet, mingle and bless the crowd. All are according to the vatican specifications. And very meaningful: the church is open to all, not watches us but much walks with us. God is beyond our reach, accompanies us in our earthly journey. Also pope mobiles speak about nature of holy father. Simplicity. The popemobiles are ordinary, no decorations, just papal coat of arms. Our holy father has very simple lifestyle, wants always to be ordinary people. Now looking at our holy father as he will pass, let us look down to ourselves, so that we can pattern our lives with the way he lives his life. And thus we can see this is what our lord Jesus lived, and where we are called to. (+RCS)
