There are times when confusion, doubt, shock or maybe sadness - TopicsExpress

There are times when confusion, doubt, shock or maybe sadness leaves you unsure of how to pray. Power in the Name of Jesus When you can’t put two words together, you can cry out the name of Jesus. At the mention of His name, every knee will bow and tongue confess that He is Lord. Every knee includes your heart and feelings. It also includes the enemy of your soul, your body, and your mind. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11). Is there a conflict that seems unsolvable? Is there a sickness that seems to serve a death sentence to your life or your dreams? Is it hard to imagine a day when joy returns? There is no One with the power that Jesus has. He holds the power to heal, to reconcile, to restore, to renew, to turn little into plenty, to ______________ (insert your current situation). There is none like You, O Lord; You are great, and Your name is great in might (Jeremiah 10:6). Eyes of Faith to Hear His Name and See His Power We can nurture the tiny morsel of faith we have in Jesus. We can use our mind to see Him as one who comes to heal our hearts and nurture us in our time of need. When I don’t have words to pray for someone, I picture Jesus sitting next to them. I see Him wrapping a bandage around their need. I start to speak His name while I watch Him apply the bandage. I begin to remember that He is our Wonderful Counselor. I say His name and remember that He is in charge of all the wealth of Heaven. I say His name again and I remember that He has a loving, nurturing heart for me and the person who is in need. I say His name and recall that He sits at the right hand of God asking for His perfect will to be released for the one I am praying. I say His name and remember: • God is Love. • God is near. • He has the desire to intervene. • He is able to do more than I can ask or imagine in this situation. Confidence in Him Brings Peace When you and I renew our confidence in Who He is, we relax a bit. We exhale and remember He is able. We exhale again and remember He can guide our prayers. We exhale and ask Him to show us how to pray. We wait for guidance. We praise Him while we wait. We read His Word to refresh our minds of His greatness. As we draw near to God, He draws near to us (James 4:8). And we pray. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13). What has been your experience in speaking the name of Jesus?
