There couldnt possibly be a more beautiful site for this years World Environment Day program than Chicago Botanic Garden--this Saturday, June 7. Its a day devoted to conservation and our environment at 1000 Lake-Cook Road in Glencoe. I hope youll join me and Nobel-prize winning University of Illinois climate researcher Dr. Don Wuebbles there from 10:30am to 12 noon when we discuss climate change. Dons work and lifetime devotion to environmental issues has played a seminal role in banning ozone-destroying chemicals from aerosol sprays globally and a shift away from freon to chemicals less harmful to our environmental through passage of the landmark Montreal Protocol in 1987--an agreement signed by the countries of the world. Climate change--the mountain of evidence which leaves little doubt its occurring and affecting the planets climate today--will be front and center Saturday.
