There exists a marked difference between stupidity and ignorance. Ignorance can, with effort, be alleviated. Stupidity is an inherited condition and cannot be alleviated. Neither, however, is deserving of insult. Insult a stupid person and you are merely revealing your own mean-spiritedness. Insult an ignorant person, and you are driving them deeper into reflexive defensiveness, where the likelihood of them realizing they are ignorant diminishes. In both cases you are not aiding the advancement of human tenderness or consciousness with your insults; you are massaging your own ego at the expense of other divine human beings.
