History of the Painting “The Last Supper” (Sacrament of the Emperor’s Person & Descending the Saint Title) drifting in Vietnam. ---------------- According to, in 1870 the French Troops of King III Napoleon stationed occupying troops in Italy, he ordered to confiscate artistic works of Italian well-known painters and to load in horse-drawn carriages to France as war booties. Perhaps, in the disorder time, there were some high-ranking officers, due to their self-interest, to order ship to carry the precious painting, The Last Supper (of famous painter Da Vinci) to Vietnamese colony to hide as their private property. At that time, it was the period that French stationed occupying troops Vietnam. Therefore, the painting has not been available in Mother Country since then. Fortunately, my father, Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh, an antiquarian, had bought it and I am the inheritor and the only owner the said painting. And in recent years, The Bank of Painting Data, located in Milan – ITALY and two sellers by auction (Christie’s, Sotheby’s) in New York have replied me that they could not find out any documentation about The Last Supper Painting. Discovery of differences between the 2 paintings “The Last Supper”, the Number 2 done by Leonardo Da Vinci drifting in Vietnam since 1870 which has pinnacle value of “Christian Arts” – Purposes, Meaning and Manifestation. Painting 1: had been drawn by Da Vinci on the wall of the Monastery of Santa Maria Delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. About the theme of the painting Jesus Christ ordered: “Among you, there must be a man to betray me.”. Characters have been laid down as follows: There were 6 apostles on the left, 6 ones on the right, and both hands of Jesus Christ on the table. Painting 2: Da Vinci had drawn on the background of a mix of gypsa & mactie, with a dimensions of (1.17m x 0.62m); thickness of 1cm, weight of about 8.5 kgs. Characters have been laid down as follows: There were 5 apostles on the left, 7 ones on the right. It was the painting of the Separation Supper at the time that Jesus Christ used magic of bread and wine to make two Sacraments (Sacrament of the Emperor’s Person and Sacrament of Descending the Saint Title). In Sacraments, Jesus Christ had appeared with His full nature (Human Nature and Divine Nature). At the end of the Last Supper, Jesus Christ made a warning gesture (Holly Cross) which He would offer the next day, by means of changing bread and wine into His flesh and blood as offerings to offer God and Jesus Christ ordered, “Bread is Christ flesh; Wine is the holy blood stream which Christ grants you” as Sacred Food in order to occupy disciples. Jesus Christ broke the bread into two equal parts and divided the bread equally among disciples, and ordered them to practice sacraments frequently in order to commemorate His Losing Life and Coming back to Life (Ga 6,48-51). Therefore: The foresaid second painting of the Last Supper was different from the first painting of the Last Supper at the Monastery of Santa Maria Delle Grazie in Milan, Italy which was described the time after dinner when Jesus Christ revealed who would sell Him! When Mr. Luong used high pressure lamp to radiate on the overcoat, it became red and sparkled as if it had had a pattern of true gold lamé threads. - It has been proved that Da Vinci was quite skilful to create a so mysterious and miraculous overcoat. - It was found out that on the Painting of “The last Supper” in Vietnam, Da Vinci was extremely precise on manifesting food dishes on the table full of fish and cheese (as stated in Bible). It is seen that there were fish and cheese on the food dish of Jesus Christ. There was moss-green color on the Painting of “The Last Supper” in Vietnam. It was a kind of soil in Sienne, Italy which was often seen on paintings of Da Vinci, specifically such as the Painting of Mona Lisa at the Museum of Louver, in which there were mix of lots of tiny glass specks of dust with dimensions of thousandth inch, coinciding with the researches of Mrs. Barbara-Berrie, a researcher of paintings in the Renaissance at the Washington showroom of National Arts, U.S.A. discovered on paintings of Da Vinci. It was a kind of gypsum called “spar satin” found in the North of Italy, just like the one of the painting of the “The Last Supper” in Milan, Italy. The moss-green color from the soil in Sienne, North of Italy. - These are glass niples emerging over the surface of the painting of “The Last Supper” in Vietnam. Perhaps it was the sign or symbol which it is very needed to be decoded. According to Mr. Andrew Martin Kemp – a scholar at the Oxford University – England, a top-ranking professional in the Renaissance, showed, “Da Vinci did like to use glass on this type of paintings” and Mr. Alessandro – Vezzozi, director of the Museum of Idenle in Tussian, Italy, told, “Da Vinci also had skill to cover glass on Cabbage; Lettuce; Paper and even beef bowels”. According to Labolatoire du Centre de Recherche et de Restauration de Musees de France (France) and European Radiation Organ (Synghrotron), on researching 7 painting of Da Vinci at the Louvre Museum, they have found that there were a great deal of layers of glass emanel covered one overlapping another. Mr. Andrew Martin Kemp – a scholar of the Oxford University – the United Kingdom, a leading professional about paintings in the Renaissance who had researched on the painting of Salvator Mundi (The Redeemer) told: “Da Vinci liked very much to use glass on paintings of this style, much similar to the material on the painting of The Last Supper in Vietnam”. A globe on Christ’s palm with lots of glass drops emerging on the painting of Salvator Mundi (The Redeemer) of Leonardo Da Vinci. On the globe, there were lots of emerging drops of glass. - On the surface of the painting of the Last Supper in Vietnam being overlapped a very thin layer of glass emanel and its shade can reflect the light and each layer only has a thickness of 2 Micromet ie. 50 times thinner than a strand of hair; it has proved that it was the particular technique of overlaying glass emanel of Leonardo Da Vinci. - Doctor Phillipe – Walter, Head of the Group of Researchers of the Louvre Museum, Paris (France), has also told some more, “The discrimination the borders of color parts from light to dark areas among 7 paintings of Da Vinci can be nearly made and the Doctor also recalled his colleagues to focus on thin glass emanel because it is evidence that Da Vinci was so clever that he could create such a layer of thin glass emanel”. The Doctor also declared, “Even till present, though they could create so thin layer of glass emanel, this technique is still so an astonished for masterly painters”. - the bright circle in the middle, it was Judas Iscariot – the disciple who betrayed Christ just for 30 coins. It was showed that Da Vinci was so clever to let us watch head-on a face, two eyes which appeared the eager for gain and fox in it . Most of us can not experience the figure of Judas: Firstly, the painting “The Last Supper” of Da Vinci on the wall of Santa Maria Dell Grazie Monastery, Italy, has been downgraded; Secondly, Da Vinci only painted half-figure of Judas. . But on this painting, we still experience the figure full of eager for gain and fox … of Judas. - The layout on the painting in Vietnam is from right to left (Because Da Vinci was a left-hander) with gentle selvelges without interruption and traces of paint-brushes. The scene was described from big to small; the light grown from shinning to dim which reflected well the rule of “Far-near sight”, specific characteristics of Italian Painting. It displayed clearly particular ethereal lines (Sfumato) of Da Vinci, almost not to be able to distinguish the borders of light and dark areas.
