There has been much said about IIC no.92 in Dublin, Ireland last - TopicsExpress

There has been much said about IIC no.92 in Dublin, Ireland last weekend, and I would just like to add these final comments. I dont know what was different about this IIC, I cant put my finger on it, as most of you who know me know, I have been fortunate to be able to attend many IIC over the world, but this one was special, not because of the subsequent gradings, but the IIC itself, the atmosphere was electric most of the time, and I have never before been in a room so full of enthusiastic people, who were giving it their all, even Grand Master Bos commented at one point, how much the Grand Masters were enjoying it, and they were getting such a buzz from it. I looked round at one point during the IIC, and could not see a single person who was not dripping in sweat with effort, senior masters and masters included, it was truly inspiring to be in the same room as these amazing people, doing what we all love, Taekwon-do. I would like to thank a few people for their unbelievable support during the event leading up to our respective gradings, and I apologise in advance for missing some people out. As anyone who knows me well enough knows, I am the worrying type, and I was worried sick all weekend that I would not come up to par in the grading, and without the constant support of the people around me, I think I might not have. I would like to thank Robin Blair and Ronnie Dewhurst, who have supported me all along, it was much appreciated, more than you will ever know. To Mark Boydell and Ngaire Boydell, who pretty much talked me into sitting my grading in the first place, I thank you both, to Master Hutton, Brian McGowan and Julia Cross, just for being at the IIC, it was great see you all and spend some time with you again, likewise to John McKissock and Saija Alto. To my good friends Master Ken Wheatley, Master Pat Barry, Master Patrick ORourke and Master Paul Delea, you all know how much of a huge part you played in helping me over the weekend, and for that I am truly grateful. I would like to thank Senior Master Gordon Wallace (and of course his wife Jacqui), and Master Jamie Campins, gentlemen, it was truly an honour being on the floor with you during the course and the grading, something I shall remember always. Finally to the people who made it all possible, Grand Master Marano, Grand Master Bos and Grand Master Lan, the friendship camaraderie and support shown by these three gentlemen over the weekend was overwhelming, and they made every moment of the course and the grading a joy, I would also like to thank them all for their kind words after the grading, it meant a lot, and was much appreciated. I have already said thanks to my wife Elaine in a previous post, so I know I wont be in trouble for not thanking her again in this post, but maybe I had better do it again, just to be on the safe side, thank you Elaine, I couldnt have done it without you X. I am now sooooooo looking forward to seeing all my friends again in Jamaica in August for the TKD World Cup. Also huge thanks to Masters OToole and Douglas for the organisation skills. Taekwon.
