There have been a couple of interesting developments on the board after this weekend! The 440 Enduro was held on Sunday, with a few of RF Riders competing, including Jake Earnest in his first mountain bike race. Gavin and Charlotte Broadbent ran their strava devices during the race, and both managed to knock a few seconds off their preliminary 440 times, with Gavin going under 9min for the stage! (y) Meanwhile, a few of us hit Skyline Gravity Park today, for a super hot and very dusty and loose gondola session. The bottom of the trail has been altered to the point where you couldnt race through to the finish mark like I was able to do in December last year, so Ive had to move the end point on the SGP segment back to the berms on the field under the gondola. Accordingly, Ive removed my times from December and re-started the SGP stage of this enduro from today, so its an even playing field with the track the way it is now :) Not hitting the Surgeons Table until the last run of the day cost Ben Jenner-Leuthart the preliminary SGP title, as he was rolling pretty quick for the majority of the black lines up the hill from the Table. J-Lo riding around the Surgeons Table allowed me to pip him by a 2sec average today. Now that hes done it however, its only a matter of time before theres another name at the top of the SGP stage (y) With some SGP runs logged, Steve Groves has placed himself in preliminary 1st overall for RF Enduro 3, while Sam Gibb sits in 2nd, with myself relegated to 3rd overall. There is a DH race at 440 next weekend, so Ill try to make it back down to Vegas on either Saturday or Sunday, and will either be back at SGP or off to session HH/LRRH and Taniwha trails in the redwoods (y) See you out there!
