There have been a lot of releases this year that have had a very significant impact on me musically. In terms of death metal, the latest releases from Fallujah, Archspire, Beyond Creation, Aversions Crown, and Rings of Saturn really pushed the boundaries on extreme music. Other releases such as from Shokran, Monuments, Code Orange, The Acacia Strain (Observer is definitely my favorite song of the year), Erra, JFAC, and Structures stood out to me and held my interest. Outside of the realm of extreme music, the new Circa Survive, Animals as Leaders, The Contortionist, The Kindred, Thomas Giles, Polyphia, and Riff Raff (hate on it; I dont care) were all fantastic releases that I still enjoy very much. What a year!
