There have been concerns about business closures in Socorro on Facebook. It is easy to blame politicians or speculate why this is happening. Experiencing closing a business I can tell you that the first person you need to look at is yourself. It is a great privilege to own and operate something and learn from your success and failures. Every entity that people create is ultimately a huge risk but a chance at achieving goals with hard work and the help of so many that help you along the way. My respect goes out to those who have taken chances at trying to do their best. There are several reasons why businesses close down whether for personal reasons, financial, or just losing interest. My thoughts and sincere hopes that the families employed by the recent closures of our local businesses find new opportunities. Everyone deserves to have an opportunity to work to support their families. We all need to stay positive and hopeful for Socorro to sustain and be a town we can be proud of.
