There is a Tribal Journey 2013 skippers meeting at Muckleshoot this coming Saturday, starts at noon. I pasted a Google map below. We discussed going through the islands, and now it looks as though that might be too costly, and complicated for ground crew, and we might be the only canoe doing so. There are still thoughts of trying to go through Deception pass to Port Townsend after Swinomish, but not firmed up; that would require staying camped at Swinomish (with Lummi and one or more canoes from Swin perhaps who have expressed interest) through the 20th, and be prepared to feed ourselves on our own. We are going to be honored to pull one of the USGS probes for monitoring water quality this year, and due to our DNR recruitment efforts we will have some additional LEAF program paddlers between Lower Elwha and Neah Bay, a long hard pull, so excellent news.
