There is a difference between disagreeing on personal preferences - TopicsExpress

There is a difference between disagreeing on personal preferences versus facts. Alice Sanvito explains this with Chinese food. I believe true professionals can agree to disagree. Depends on what it is. Sometimes something is just plain wrong. Im not going to agree to disagree when thats the case. Not all points of view are valid, not all opinions are based on accurate information. Some people will hat Chinese food no matter what.. That is a personal preference. My choice of modalities, for instance, is a personal preference. But statements of fact, of physiology, are not about personal opinion. Thats why we ask for evidence. If I make a claim about something, I should be prepared to support it with evidence. Theres a difference. So, if you like Chinese and I dont, we can agree to disagree about that. But if you say that lying on a heating pad with amethyst crystals in it will repair your DNA, I cant let that stand. This is one of the places we run into with some of our colleagues. They think such a thing is a matter of opinion and it isnt.
