There *is* a fee for overnighting at Peru Peak Shelter and Griffith Lake Tenting Area. It is not listed in The A.T. Guide, because there had not been a caretaker in recent years. A caretaker was added this hiking season. As a reminder; the prices and policies listed in The AT Guide represent my best effort to gather the information late in 2013. Things change. Caretakers, hiking clubs and businesses have no obligation to hold to what is listed in the guide. Please let me know if there are changes.
