There is a heroin problem, some are calling it an epidemic in the suburbs here in IL. Especially the West Burbs (I say especially because that is the area I know best, you best believe its widespread in IL), yes those bedroom communities where folks settle from out of state or the city to settle their families in safe communities with good schools. Problem is every time I bring this up to someone they want to deny or state, not in my town/city/village, or schools. Yes in your town/city/village/community and schools! While some are aware and attend the community/school board parent seminars/mtgs so many others arent or figure it wont touch them. I also spoke to someone that stated it was cleared out in their schools, in reality according to the sheriff of that community, its not cleared, the number of over-dose deaths have dropped, but the users, sellers and drug is still there. Just trying to spread a PSA about this, because many times things are quiet, hush-hush here in the burbs among the residents or sometimes people (especially the ones in my circle) get stuck on one issue such as common core, because its the current hot issue of the conservative moment in relation to the youth out here.
