There is a new high quality Suikoden game in development! LIKE to download it! https://facebook/Suikoden2.5 So what is Suikoden 2.5? It’s a simple but thought provoking question. Essentially, it’s a game that expands upon the original Suikoden 2, fleshing out the backstories of various characters, giving us new experiences in the Suikoden world, returning to the original style of the 2D games, and it foreshadows and builds its way into a sequel that links Suikoden 2 and Suikoden 3 together. Suikoden 2.5 follows the official timeline as closely as possible while trying to take as few liberties as possible. For playability and enjoyment, there are lite cameos and recruitments which don’t always follow the direct linearity, but they keep the heart of the characters in tact. Furthermore, I have studied the Suikoden history and I only take liberties to make the game more fun to play. With major events, I follow them precisely as they unfolded in the official story. I have released demos of Suikoden 2.5 before, as I’ve previously found that making mistakes is the best teacher. I still find that essential truth to be a very valuable tool, but don’t let previous renditions of demos for Suikoden 2.5 be the all-deciding final judge. These were more of trial by fire, learning as I went along, examples of trying to prove to a new fanbase that I wasn’t talking about making a new Suikoden, as various others have promised without delivery, but giving you something tangible to touch. The new Suikoden 2.5 has an entirely new engine and the gameplay looks authentic to actual playstation games. There are slight variances of course, but as I learned from past demos, I really want to make this feel like an authentic and worthy edition to the Suikoden mythos. I want this to seem so close to a real Suikoden that if you didn’t know better, you’d think this was made from the same people. Releasing in chapters, so that I’m still able to give you games consistently, instead of promising them fruitlessly, Suikoden 2.5 is split into 5 different pieces. In the end, all 5 chapters will be linked together to create a cohesive web that fully and logically paints the scenary for the Suikoden timeline between 2 and 3. Chapter 1 lets the audience play through the perspective of Viktor and Flik. We’ll gauge deeper into their troubles, Flik’s coping with Odessa, and Viktor trying to convince himself that the murderous nightmare of Neclord is gone for good. I’m studying the official dialogue and staying true to the characters, but expanding upon them as humans in a way that Suikoden 2 didn’t because it was split between 108 characters. There are still recruit-able characters, but the game tries to highlight individuals to tell their backstories with a spotlight at the focal point. Lesser characters make cameos, occasionally serving as temporary party members, but the essential group remains the same. In Chapter 2, which is still set for next year, you’ll get to experience Jowy’s life under Luca Blight for the first time. In that year, you’ll see just how a talented and underrated peasant ambitiously rose to becoming the king. Furthermore, Luca Blight is a pivotal character in the entire story arch of Suikoden 2.5. You’ll learn much more about what made him into a monster that killed thousands! In a way, Luca Blight is the common thread that links the plight between the two parties. Riou and Nanami are supporting characters, albeit playable in moments, but the spotlight in Suikoden 2.5 isn’t on them because we already know their story. They serve to tie in the continuity and be consistent with the official timeline, but I want to use this as a vehicle to tell the stories within the shadows of Suikoden that haven’t been brought into the light. Jowy’s chapters will have their own cast of recruit-able characters. You’ll be fighting alongside Seed and Culgan for a majority of his chapters. With 6 possible spots, that leaves 3 more for you to play with. However, the characters you see within the actual context of the story play a much more major role than random recruits. There are also new characters and new layers to the story in Suikoden 2.5, which try not to take too many liberties, but still exist to allow creative freedom. Understand that they only exist to improve the story and make it more fun and compelling. I also try to make sure that their existence isn’t detracting from the logic of the history. Well, I’ve already written more on the subject than I intended to. Lastly, I’d like to tell you that Suikoden 2.5 is free and it’ll always be free! All we ask is that you share and support us because it motivates us all to want to improve even more! :) Follow us on facebook where we already have 12,000 fans! We’re also creating a new website! The download to Chapter 1 should be available in November! Suikoden is back! :)
