There is a new selling/buying platform called VarageSale! What is VarageSale? Varagesale is a Buy and Sell platform that was created in the likeness of the yard sale groups we all know and love! Except things work and changes are implemented to make things buy and sell BETTER! Great platform, happy members :) VS was created by a (fed up!) Facebook admin. Her husband is a programmer/coder and he built VS from scratch based on the things she liked (and didnt like!) about fb groups. Then, in January 2013, VS2 was released and it was built for the future! It was initially created just for her group in Canada as a trial, and to check for interest. Now VS is growing fast and is international - Canada, USA, UK, Australia, Italy and Germany (so far)! They have over a MILLION members - crazy! Also, real-time messages for web and mobile apps. * BUMP SETTINGS: Admins get to set a limit on how many items are bumped at a time AND how often they can bump!! *Each members items appears under a My Stuff area. Any member can click on another members name to see all that they have for sale. Everyone has their own store! *Push notifications! The iPhone, Android & Kindle Fire mobile apps make it impossible to miss anything you are following. *There is a list of categories and sub-categories so that members can upload to the right place. There is also a way to see ALL items at once in a gallery view. You can also filter to view what is free or what people are looking for (ISOs) or choose to view whats new without the bumped items. *Internal private messaging system -- No more other folder that nobody can find! *Members can browse the main feed, by category/sub-category, by Looking For, the FREE items, or the ALL category -- shows every item in the group like a catalogue. *Most groups have a COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS category where they have sub-categories for fundraisers, events, garage sale notices, recipes, prayer requests *Members can choose which categories are not applicable to them. That can be edited at any time. *You can Watch items that other members have for sale. You can also un-watch their items when its no longer applicable to you. Watching means that you will be notified of any activity on the item. *FREE Tech Support with real live people who help you and actually respond!! (During waking hours). There is also a VERY HANDY Knowledge Base (Self-Help) where you can search for something and get answers to your questions. *PRICING: A member can either put their price in the price box or put 0 in the price box so that it comes up as FREE in the category and in the FREE STUFF category. *VS has status flags - available (automatic upon posting), pending, and sold. Once an item is flagged as sold, it will automatically delete after approximately 7 days! *Small Business Directory where small/home business people can post their contact info. *You can follow a favorite seller and be notified when they post. You can also follow a favorite category! *In your own store, your items are categorized into Available, Pending, Sold, Looking For, etc. for easier access. *Required location area: VS location is separate from Facebook. That way, if someone does not want their location showing on Facebook, they can still show it on VS without it affecting their Facebook profile. *Praise button to compliment another member you had a great transaction with. No negative feedback allowed. *Pictures can be added in the Comment section for additional views or info. This means nobody needs to make separate posts for various views of an item.
