There is a petition now asking Craiglist to ban the section called Animals for free. Too many animals fall in the wrong hands after being given away to strangers by unsuspicious owners. Please share the petition and even more. Please ask your family members, your neighbors and your coworkers never, ever give away a family pet through Craiglist or any newspaper ad. If they need to give away their pet, for good or selfish reasons, they have the moral obligation to make sure that their pet will be in loving and safe hands. They neef to screen the adopter and make a home inspection. They should not assume their pet will always be safe. There are rescue groups who work with owners to make sure that the new home will be good for the pet. Many animals are used for dog fighting or sold to labs. Please help stop any kind of animal cruelty by encouraging safe re-adoptions or re-homing.
