There is a rescue here in Washington, called Valhalla Rescue. They have a 5 month old dog, looks a lot like my Kodi did, who I believe is a Rott Mix, too. The rescue is for medical needs dogs. The medically challenged and extremely abused. This poor puppy, his medical report made me cry and want to crawl out of my skin. If I were financially stable enough to bring a pup into the house, Id be begging to apply for him. Via tests, they have found multiple healed fractures to multiple ribs on both the left and right sides..dental trauma (he has missing and broken teeth) trauma to a shoulder, and several other things. All from abuse. He probably hasnt known a single day in his life, until rescued, where he wasnt under a threat of some kind. And yet, hes still lovable and playful. If you look on their page, there is a video of him trying to play with the windshield wipers on his trip to the rescue on the 25th. In pain, and still wanting to find happiness in the typical ways puppies do. They are collecting evidence to prosecute the person who did it, but, Im not sure they can dish anything strong enough for that type of person. Animal neglect is bad enough, but generally in those cases, there is also something that is causing that person mental or emotional issues for them to let their care of others, animals and themselves, slide to a very dark place. In outright abuse cases, where they have been truly and intentionally tortured? I just.. I have no empathy for those people. I wish I could because I dont want to be that cold. But, they need to face the same sort of abuse they gave a child or animal, daily, for the rest of their life.
